WINTER TRYOUTS 2025/6
Winter Tryouts are a great opportunity for players currently playing recreational soccer to experience a higher level of training and competition in a fun, supportive environment with our licensed coaching staff.
These winter tryouts are designed to help identify new players who may be ready to join Santa Cruz United FC for the upcoming Spring 2026 season — or to enter our Spring Development Pathway Program, designed for players preparing to move into competitive soccer in Fall 2026.
Tryout Date:
Saturday, January 24, 2026
🕓 Exact times by age group will be announced soon.
📍 Location: TBD (final location will be announced soon)
Who Can Attend:
Players born between 2019–2014 (ages 6–11) who are eager to develop their skills and play more competitively.
Please note:
These tryouts are open only to players who are not currently registered with another NorCal Premier competitive club.
Players registered with another competitive club may not attend until the NorCal open tryout window in May.
Registration
All players must pre-register for tryouts.

What to Expect
Players will participate in fun, age-appropriate soccer activities, including small-sided games, skill stations, and friendly scrimmages.
Our goal is to make the experience positive and enjoyable while giving coaches a chance to see each player’s effort, coordination, and potential.
Spring Development Pathway Program (2019-2016 Birth YEars)
Players born between 2016 & 2019 who show strong potential but are not yet ready for competitive play, or where team roster spots are full for Spring 2026, may be invited to join our Spring Development Pathway Program.
This program bridges the gap between recreational and competitive soccer, offering:

Weekly professional training sessions

A focus on technical skill development and game understanding

Opportunities to train alongside current competitive players

Preparation for future evaluation and placement opportunities with Santa Cruz United
